The year of 2012 was of course, well, I couldn’t help myself but to figure out what really were the fashion trends in the year that was (3 days from now, 2012 will be gone. Soooo, so long past memories, I will always remember you with no regrets and of course, well learnt lessons) - there were see through dresses and tops for women (and a teeny weeny of men), vintage shoes paved its way AGAIN (like moccasin shoes, brogues, and the like), aztec and animal printed clothes for both men and women and all those 80’s and 90’s stuff soared really really high in 2012. And, with that feeling of vintage-y, I kinda felt like… I enjoyed it, really.

So, what really made me post this is given the fact that yayyyyy, 2012 is almost over and I thank God for letting me and my family survived the year with a bang. Indeed, what a year 2012 is. Annnndddd YAYYYY, another fashion survival this year because I have just gone to Paris, Milan and London VIRTUALLY THROUGH THE EYES OF THE INTERNET AND ONLINE MAGAZINE.

So here’s what 2013 FASHION SCENE stores for all of us

The VERSACE Top is worth every penny to save for. I mean look at that, very well-knitted and all. Perfectly made for.. who else? ME of course. (haha. sorry, cant help myself)

The Forbidden Fruit should have at least tasted by NO ONE. This perfect couple strutting the runway of Michael Kors and wearing the KORS’ amazing print of STRIPES isn’t really fair. Where can i ever find the so-called JUSTICE in the world? (LOL)

You seem very familiar…. CHUCK BASS, is that you? haha. Michael Bastian have just ruined my reputation of being so “punk-and-whateverish” becaaauuuuussseee, his designs are killing me already. Very Preppy and classy.

and my favorite piece? (with a big question mark with it) would be Moschino’s Art on Art on Art piece. I really love the top, and the short shorts (Couldn’t wear the short shorts though. it ain’t appropriate for me. I’m short. haha).

Soooo, what do you think? What have you noticed? Well, I noticed that there are some and a bt of changes for the trends in the upcoming year. Still lots of colors, minimalist will still be at present but in with the new, out with old and what I’m trying to say here is that, goodbye Animal Prints, and hellloooooo STRIPES and FULLY-DETAILED prints…

Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary

image

December 12, 2012 - - -You may wonder why I titled this post as such…

Well, what I am certain of about this look would be the fact that I was inspired with Mother Mary’s greatness x Rihanna’s adornment towards Mother Mary’s power. And whatever, you may say that I’m too blasphemous for wearing such, that there’s an illustration of Mother Mary on my shirt, blah blah blah, but blame your pessimistic and erratic minds for making those way of thinking. GROW UP!

The story of this look was inspired by Rihanna’s song entitled “Love without Tragedy/Mother Mary” - this 7 minute track speaks for imperfect/maltreated love, devotion towards Mary’s and Jesus’ perfection and prowess of everything, success and forgiveness.

There is healing whenever I listen to the song. It allegorically creates beauty within me.

“Mother Mary, I swear I wanna change, Mr. Jesus  I’d love to be a Queen/ but I’m from the Left side of an island, never thought this many people would even know my name” - this, is in itself a life that Rihanna faced through the 7 years of her career as an artist yet she still remains as humble as her Grandmother told her.

The song is by far one of the few songs of hers that is very much personal and something which I can relate to.

MY LOVE IS DEADLY

You may wonder why I titled this post as such because….

Well, MUSIC has always been one of my fashion inspirations. And I will never get tired listening to the type of genres I am in love with - POP, Alternative Rock, Indie, Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Mellow, Urban/HIP-HOP.

Music, for me, has helped me get through to/with life’s difficulties. And it proved to be somewhat as my stronghold as to whatever I go through, as to EVERYTHING. I mean, not necessarily GOING INTO MUSIC, LITERALLY, but by just listening to my kind of music, then undoubtedly, there’s “SPARK”.

I don’t know why there’s just very alarming, confusing and strange feeling when I listen to music, but my head goes like banging metaphorically, it is as if I wanna go out of that “TYPICAL WORLD” where I belong to; it drives me crazy actually whenever there’s something cool and vibrant to the music/song I’m listening to at a particular time.

So anyway, this look was taken last Wednesday, November 21, 2012. I got inspired by Rihanna x Kanye West ‘PHRESH, FRESH and FIERCE LOOK’ and Lana Del Rey’s song entitled ‘Without You’.

“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.” - Billy Joel
